Another week wrapping up… another quarter soon coming to an end. Time marches on. Last week we posted about succession planning for the PTA. Now is the time to connect with the MTMS PTA and explore options for board and other volunteer positions available in the next academic year. Don’t forget we are searching for a secretary and a vice president / fundraising coordinator for the 2021-2022 school year. Maybe that is you? Maybe that is not you, but you know the perfect person to share the opportunity with. Don’t hesitate to share these opportunities within your MTMS networks. We are excited to share several upcoming events, which all seem to revolve around food! We will provide more information regarding all of these events in the coming weeks, but wanted to give everyone a chance to add them to your calendars and consider which events might be best for you and your family to participate in.

Sunday, February 7th Dairy Hill Ice Cream on 36th and Hawthorne will be sharing a portion of their proceeds with MTMS PTA. What else is there to do on a Sunday during a pandemic? Head to 1428 SE 36th Avenue and grab some ice cream. Treat your students to some ice cream and celebrate the first week of the third quarter of school!

Wednesday, March 10th Por Que No on Hawthorne will be sharing a portion of their proceeds with MTMS PTA. It sounds like just the thing we all might need mid-week to sail through the rest of the week. Por Que No Taqueria is located at 4625 Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard.

Dream Dinners is offering another event in mid-March, the week of March 15th. If you were able to participate in the December Dream Dinners event, then you know how convenient and yummy the meals are. You will have the opportunity to order again in March! If you were not able to try the dinners during the first event in December, then you are in luck and have the opportunity to make dinner easier and support MTMS PTA.

DON’T FORGET: The third general PTA meeting of the academic year Tuesday, February 2nd, 6:30-8:00pm, online through Zoom. We will have two speakers discussing Restorative Justice starting at 7:00pm.
