We have had two partial weeks of school and now a full week of school. It feels pretty good to be back into the routine of in person school. The PTA is excited to report we reach the fundraising goal and we are purchasing voice amplifiers for teachers, thanks to this amazing community. We really feel lucky to be a part of such a supportive, caring, and sharing school community.

If you follow the PTA on Facebook or if your follow the MTMS group on Facebook, you may have seen that the PTA is going to keep the SchoolPay link open for continued donations. Any amount over what we need for the voice amplifiers will go to the general fund and be used to reimburse teachers for classroom supplies and other teacher, staff, and student needs. There is still time to donate.

PTA Membership! We are so excited to have 47 registered PTA members so far this year. Last week we noted that we have a goal of 100 members for this school year. Dues are $15.00 per person, per year and help the PTA meet MTMS needs for teachers, staff, and students. Can YOU help us meet our goal? You can register at the following link or use the QR code. There is no time commitment if you register as a member. We do hold four general meetings a year (more to come on these in the future) and do hope many community members (PTA members and non-PTA members) will join those meetings, but it is not required.

Volunteer Positions on the PTA Board

We currently have a few PTA Board positions available. The Board meets four times a year. We have volunteer opportunities large and small, regular positions for the whole year, and some positions revolving around certain events. Some of the current opportunities:

Treasurer Elect – learn how to be treasurer from our current amazing Treasurer

Volunteer Coordinator – help coordinate volunteers as need (some examples: Picture Day, Picture Retake Day, during Parent-Teacher Conferences, Staff Appreciation Week, decorating for 8th Grade Promotion, and more

Restaurant Partner Volunteer – procure restaurant partners for these fundraising events

Bottle Drop Coordinator – ensure Bottle Drop bags and labels are stocked and distributed to those interested

Parent-Teacher Conference – take the lead or assist in coordinating a lunch for teachers during conference week in November

Staff Appreciation Week – take the lead or assist in coordinating staff appreciation events in May
